Halloween Happenings

Our little cotton-candy fairy (that is what the catalog called her costume and she LOVES the name!) has been fluttering around town enjoying various Halloween activities.

We attended the annual Rodriguez Halloween party, complete with bouncy-house, sno cone truck, face painter and all the treats her little heart could desire.  Unfortunately, the party was on the same day as her 4 year old pics, so I reigned in her fun a bit (i.e. no red sno cones and no face painting) but I think she still had a blast.

I couldn't help but show-off a preview of her pictures - I love this one because it really captures her fun-loving, sweet little personality

We also went to Zoo Boo again this year with Annabelle and the Skalak twins.  It was a fun day of friends, animals, a picnic lunch and, of course, some carousel rides.

Two pretty little fairies

The boys refused to look and smile for me...

And, this one has nothing to do with Halloween, but we have been catching our first few days of cooler weather in Houston, so Olivia decided we all needed our vests

This weekend is her school's Halloween parade and Fall Festival, as well of course as Halloween.  Olivia has vowed she will be "so mad at the weather" (said in her maddest little voice with her face all scrunched up) if it rains, so for the sake of Mother Nature, we are all hoping for dry skies!

Goodnight Moon

For Olivia's birthday, my parents got  her tickets to see the play Goodnight Moon at Main Street Theater. (PS - If you live in Houston, this is such a great venue for kids! The plays are very family-friendly and afterwards the kids get to meet the characters, get their autograph and take a picture).

She loved it!

And Grandpa and Mimi took her to get a nutella crepe afterwards - what's not to love?!

Matt and I took advantage of a little kid-free time by cheering on our Houston Astros in Game 3 of the ALDS!

Pumpkin Patch

Last week was the annual pumpkin patch at Olivia's school and she could not have been more excited.

The first thrill of the day was being able to wear this year's pumpkin dress

As soon as we arrived, Jack ran over to Olivia claiming he had gotten the "most ginormous" pumpkin in the patch.  Olivia took that as a challenge and was determined to find a bigger one.  Go big or go home?

And, once we had the perfect pumpkin, it was time for playing with our friends and eating tons of treats

And, on Saturday, we carved the pumpkin.  Olivia decorated half with stickers and we carved the other half.

Excited for more Halloween fun this month!

Friday Night Lights

Now that we are officially into Fall, we decided to start checking off some items from our Fall bucket list.  We took advantage of a rare, cool Friday night to meet up with the Stephensons for a Memorial High School football game.

Yes, she wore her Ariel costume.  I can't even.

To say Olivia had fun would be a huge understatement.  To say she watched more than 1 minute of the football game, would also be a huge overstatement.

As soon as Emma arrived, the silliness began.

Much of it stemming from a certain, silly daddy

From the minute we arrived, she was determined to get some snacks.  And, once Emma and Paige got there, they wore us down so were off to find some snacks..

I think they liked half-time the best (but who I am to judge - so did I!) and that started a little marching in the stands to match the marching band.

We also grew weary of telling them not to climb on this rail and eventually landed on "Fine.  Sit on the rail,  But you can't stand." Parenting at its finest.

And Olivia and Emma were thrilled with the Mustangs and ran to greet them (sweet little Paigey stayed far away safe with mamma!)

Unfortunately Memorial lost but I think this will be a fun Friday night event for the rest of the Fall!
