Mehta Family Vacation 2014

Like last summer, my parents again rented (the same) beach house in Galveston and we headed down for the weekend.  Unfortunately, like last year, the weather did not really cooperate with us.  It was rainy and cool the entire weekend, but that didn't get this group down.  We still had a great time and managed to get in a trip or 2 to the beach!

We went to the beach once on Friday evening with Mimi and Aunt Naz before a huge clap of thunder and bolt of lightning scared us away.  I adore how Olivia is holding a naked baby doll so lovingly in this picture!

Our little alarm clock daughter woke up at 5:15 that morning.  But thankfully Mimi and Grandpa were nice enough to let her sleep with them that night so Matt and I could sleep in a little bit.  After being awake for a few hours, they waited for us to relieve them and then went back to bed!

Matt and I took advantage of some nice weather and took Olivia to the beach early on Sat morning while everyone else was still asleep.

While Olivia napped, the grown-ups got in a very competitive game of Uno.

Let's be honest -- the main attraction of the weekend was the food!  We did lots of cooking!

Apparently Olivia was mixing a little too enthusiastically for Mimi!  (She wouldn't want to see the way Olivia's daddy mixes!)

Given the rainy situation, we had to find other way to entertain ourselves.  Like seeing if Naz can catch marshmallows in her mouth!

We also painted, played games, and just generally had fun!

What a fun weekend with family!
